This piece was created while Laura and I went to Folly Beach in Charleston SC where we found a small wedding party. Ironically, we were there attending another wedding that day. Congratulations to Kristen and Jim!!
Winter 09' oil on canvas 24"x36" "I think this piece is signifying the financial struggle many people, including myself, are going through. Happy New Year!"
Fall 24"x24" oil on canvas "I'm back from the living dead doing landscapes again. This painting was done using a subtractive technique of taking away paint, while the other landscapes before was an additive technique. I like how atmosphere is portrayed here."
early spring (1st day!) oil on board 7.5"x10" "Lately the Atlanta area has had some strong weather roll through. Amazingly, the clouds at night have been moving fast over a bright moon, tonight was no exception. Winds feels like 30-40 mph at 45 degrees."
winter 08' (oil on board) 10"x7.5" carter's lake @ 50 degrees, dusk "I'm sensing a pattern with this one, if i'm not at kenn. mtn. than i'm painting rocks and water."
winter 08'(oil on board)10"x10" kenn.mtn. "Second time this week we've seen snow, painted this in 30 min. crouched under a rock while it was still coming down"
winter 08'(oil on board)10"x11.5" "So I've had to go back to my last job which I've been doing for about a month now. After work I went to this old graveyard to paint."
winter 07'(oil on board)9"x14" sope creek "I painted this on the last hour of daylight. This rainy day on this flooded creek allowed Georgia to escape from making this the driest year in its history. "
winter 07' (oil on board)14"x10" kenn.mtn. "Beautiful crisp day, went to sleep on this hill until I was awoken by sandhill cranes being chased by black vultures. Enjoyed the chaos of trees while painting with my glasses off. People fought and died on this hill in 1864. Hard to imagine now."
winter 07' oil on board 14"x10" sope creek "Had a technical bike ride to find this area. Damp and cold has been the theme when I get out lately. I love all the challenges it takes to create these pieces. What made this unique was a big'ol sloppy wet retriever ran up to me, stepped on the piece and slimed me with his tongue. Smeared it perfectly."
late fall 07' (oil on board) 15"x15" "Painted this today while fighting a cold and the wet. Enjoyed the irony of painting this drought ridden landscape on a rainy dreary day."
